Wooden Labyrinth x System 108
System 108
System 108 is a promo group and record label based in Moscow since 2015. The promo group regularly holds its own musical events and participates in collaboration-projects with friendly promoters.
Project
Wooden labyrinth was designed for the Test 6 party that took place on the territory of the former Moscow tool factory in 2018.
The main task was to come up with a functional art object that would become a point of attraction for guests on the open area of the event. The event itself was a 36-hour rave. And a rave is an occasion where people feel free as in childhood. That is why I wanted to build a thing that would wake up children's habits at a party and invite people to explore.
The installation turned into several things at once: a giant lantern that attracts attention with its red light; the inner part in the form of a labyrinth, where you can hide and deal with secrets; and the outer part, designed as a chill zone with soviet carpets from where you could see everything happening on the street area. It is also amazing that the wooden four-meter construction on the front side was designed as the promo group’s Systems 108 logo.
Very simple and time-tested materials were chosen for the construction – wooden pallets, polycarbonate sheets and led bars for lighting.
[Creative producer, 2019]
I created this project on a turn-key basis from developing an idea to building the object on the location:
- idea
- design and decoration
- branding
- 3D-modeling
- lightplot
- cost estimate
- project documentation
- production
