The artwork Jesus Chilling on The Cross was created within researching of Renaissance’s Sacred Geometry that underlies the construction of the composition. The basis of this picture is a rethinking of the Dutch artist Rogier van der Weyden – Crucifixion Diptych.
Being inspired by works of contemporary artist Frank Nitsche the author took as the main figure Jesus crucified on the cross and in the framework of the general composition of the painting deconstructed the crucifix of Jesus into geometric figures. Thus the plot of the Renaissance painting was visually reworked in a Suprematist way and painted considering harmonization of geometric forms and color combinations. These techniques were used to set the dynamics and the main emotion perception of work.
