Soviet stool, acrylic paints
45x32x32 cm
2018

I really love the Soviet modernism, cubism, minimalism. And I also really love a soviet stool, the one with twist-off legs, which stood in the kitchen at my home in the childhood, which stood at the dacha, my grandparents also had such stools. Probably all the people in the USSR had these stools. And I still have it.

Now it is not entirely clear what the pleasure for a small kid was to unscrew legs and screw them back, swap with other stools, play these stools as LEGO thing and son on and so forth. I remember that for sure.

Stools are in my mind even when I grew up. I rolled it into my pattern and really like to sit on it at the easel. Everything is perfect in the stool – its asceticism, simplicity, reliability, and also, sitting on it, always keeps your back straight. Great stool!
